So I was totally wrong about plot points in The Force Awakens, which I finally saw at the theater because I was going down to Disney for a training conference, and that meant visiting Disney Studios, and hello! Star Wars at Disney! But it would have been so cool if I'd been right about Luke. . .
I do love Rey, however, and Finn and Poe too. I'm not in the Finn/Poe camp just yet, but Rey/Finn doesn't quite work either. What's great about Rey's character is that we see her working hard, taking chances, and aspiring to better things even after all the crappiness life has thrown at her so far. This is a far different and better entrance than Anakin Skywalker in The Phantom Menace. I do have a lot to say about Han Solo's exit (ah hem) that boil down to: really? Sigh.
At Disney Studios, enjoyed as always the Jedi show, Star Tours (seriously a great ride), the film about the Star Wars movies, and the prop exhibit. Also the Star Wars fireworks show at 8 pm with John Williams music blasting through the park. Very much looking forward to the new Star Wars area they are going to build down there. If Harry Potter can have a park, Han Solo can too.
